Our desk feels like our second home these days – but how clean is it really? Ask yourself these questions:
- Is it CLEAN?
Most people eat at their desk every day for lunch but is the desk really clean? Your phone, chair armrests, and keyboards are the worst. Take the time once a week to disinfect them all.
- Is it ERGONOMIC?
Maintaining proper posture at your desk avoids neck, shoulder, and back pain. Keep your knees level with your hips, so slightly below, and your arms bent at 90 degrees. Footrests can also help with proper alignment. Position your monitor 18” to 24” away with the center of the screen at or just below eye level.
- Is it ORGANIZED?
It’s frustrating when you can’t find something that is important among the piles of paper on your desk. Take a few minutes at the end of each day to tidy up.
- Is it CHEERFUL?
Research has shown that employees with a decorated workspace are happier, healthier, and more productive. Hang your favorite cat poster or display a photo of your kids. Plants can also help with air quality, so maybe try one of those too. Unless you’re like me and don’t have a window.
